A special day for the Penn family

This Saturday marks the sixth annual Penn Family Day - a special thank-you from the University to its faculty and staff.

Faculty, staff and their families can enjoy a free picnic lunch, with activities for children and entertainment by the Penn Glee Club, the Penn Band and Penn's cheerleaders, on Hill Field (in Hill House if it rains) starting at 11:30 a.m.

After lunch, faculty and staff can attend the Penn-Columbia football game at 1:30 p.m. in Franklin Field for free. (Family and friends can see the game for $2 a head.)

Saturday is also Faculty/Staff Appreciation Day at the University of Pennsylvania Museum. Your faculty or staff PennCard gets you and your family into the Museum for free. As a nod to the current "An Italian Journey" exhibit, the Museum Cafe will be serving coffee, tea, espresso, cappucino and Italian biscotti.

Free parking will be available with your PennCard at the 34th and Chestnut streets garage.

Tickets to the picnic and football game are available at the Weightman Hall Ticket Office, on 33rd Street next to the Franklin Field north stands, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, or call 898-6151.
