Snow Excuses

Not sure what to do with your kids when school is cancelled because of snow? The Penn Children’s Center may be your answer. This year, as in past years, the center will offer snow day childcare for children of Penn faculty and staff. The program is open for children between 12 weeks and 12 years of age, and will be available from December 6 through March 25 on days when the University is open. Children can be dropped off at the Penn Children’s Center at Left Bank Commons, Suite 100, 3160 Chestnut Street. The center will be open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Take note though, pre-enrollment is required. For more information, go to www.hr.upenn.edu/quality/worklife/snowday.asp.

Just for U

Employee life at Penn has become just a little bit easier with the newest reforms to U@Penn, a one-stop, customizable employee information portal. The portal can be used to update and view payroll profiles and access benefits information and pay stub histories. U@Penn also provides access to web-based mail, current news and announcements, the Penn calendars and other personalized features similar to the PennPortal service provided to students. The newest features include easy access to online applications and resources important to employees. U@Penn can be accessed at www.upenn.edu/u@penn.

Fair’s fair

To keep Penn employees up to date on all the services, programs and opportunities on campus, the Weekly-Paid Professional Staff Assembly (WPSA) & Penn Professional Staff Assembly (PPSA) held an Employee Resource Fair on Monday, October 25. In an effort to make next year’s fair even more of a success—and with around 1,400 attendees, this year wasn’t too shabby—WPSA and PPSA is conducting a survey of the event. If you stopped by the fair, take a minute and fill out the online survey at www.upenn.edu/survey/resourcefair. Call Sylvie Beauvais at 215-898-4268 with any questions.
