One of the best things about being a film buff in Philadelphia is Secret Cinema, a series for those of us who embrace and enjoy so-called “low-brow” cinematic entertainment. In Secret Cinema’s 15-year history, founder Jay Schwartz has screened travelogues, educational films, war propaganda movies and short films about hot rods, just to name a few. On Oct. 14 at 8 p.m., International House gives film fans the chance to see “The Secret Secret Cinema,” with films from the series’ 35mm collection that haven’t seen a projector in years. On the bill are short movies about go-go dancers, ads for long-gone businesses and original previews for genre films “Hells Angels ’69,” “Groupies” and “Mondo Mod” (right).
