Gobble up goodies at Employee Resource Fair

Here’s a tip. Don’t come empty handed to the Employee Resource Fair.

Organized by the Penn Professional Staff Assembly and the Weekly-Paid Penn Professional Staff Assembly, in partnership with the Office of the Executive Vice President and the Division of Human Resources, the fair will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 11, from noon to 2 p.m. at Bodek Lounge in Houston Hall

Bring a bag or two filled with personal papers and electronic gadgets you no longer need, because at the fair you will be able to shred documents and dispose of those electronics safely and securely.

Then, use your bags to collect the fun freebies being given away at the fair, which will feature 35 Penn departments, centers and arts institutions, as well as external vendors. You’re likely to find mini sewing and first aid kits, pencils and pens, key holders, magnets and mints in Penn-branded containers alongside informational pamphlets and brochures.

Raffle drawings will be held for free prizes, including an American flag that was flown over the Capitol Building in Washington, D.C.

The University’s shredding vendor, Recall, will set up shop in Penn Commons to allow employees to destroy confidential documents free of charge.

Another Penn vendor, GigaBiter, will shred computer hard drives and properly and freely dispose of consumer electronics, old TVs and computer monitors. The GigaBiter team will be located on Spruce Street outside of Houston Hall.

And don’t forget to stop by the Reading Room in Houston Hall for the Penn Commuter Fair, held in conjunction with the Employee Resource Fair. Penn Transit staffers, joined by representatives from Amtrak, SEPTA, the Port Authority Transit Corporation and others, will be in attendance to explain new commuting options for members of the Penn community.
