Shop at Penn Bookstore’s holiday ‘sale-abration’

Sleigh bells ring, are you listening? At the Penn Bookstore, gifts are glistening. A beautiful sight, on Dec. 8 and 9, walk into a winter wonderland of puzzles, games and, of course, books, at a 20 percent discount.

Enjoy the bookstore’s new holiday decorations as you shop to the songs of the season. Free holiday photos are available in an updated sleigh scene from 2 to 5 p.m. And from 4 to 6 p.m., shoppers can treat themselves to free hot chocolate and cookies.

Show your Quaker pride with gifts created out of recycled Palestra wood, or choose from among a selection of Penn-specific sterling silver charms, newly introduced Penn coasters, clocks and ornaments made from Screencraft marble tile or Penn-branded athletic wear.

For the little ones on your list, kids’ apparel in the bookstore has been moved to the “Penn and Me” children’s reading room, where customers can also find a new line of plush toys.

If your shopping list includes electronics, stop by Computer Connection on Dec. 8 or 9 for special offers, including a free iPad2 SmartCover with any iPad purchase through Dec. 31. For Computer Connection’s online 2011 Holiday Wishbook, visit www.upenn.edu/computerstore.

Giftwrapping will be available on Dec. 8 and 9 with donations going to the School of Nursing’s Living Independently For Elders program.

If all that shopping makes you hungry, hop on over to the University Club for lunch. Members and non-members can enjoy a special holiday menu; complimentary hot chocolate and hot cider will also be served.

Can’t get to the store during the sale? Page through the bookstore’s updated digital catalog. Free shipping is offered through Dec. 17.

Look for the Holiday Wishbook and "sale-abration" reminder card in your mailbox. The discount does not apply to Nook electronic readers and textbooks, among other items, and it cannot be combined with any previous discount offers.
