Free football tickets to Penn home games

The 15-time Ivy League Champion Penn Quakers will officially kick off the 136th football season next month—and Penn Athletics wants University faculty and staff to be there.

Earlier this summer, Penn Athletics announced that all PennCard holders, including faculty, staff, hospital workers, Penn Police, and Allied Barton security guards, can attend home games for free, and can bring up to three guests at no additional charge.

“We are excited to welcome Penn faculty and staff to historic Franklin Field to share in the excitement surrounding Penn football,” says Alanna Shanahan, deputy director of athletics. “Rich in tradition as well as success, we encourage you to showcase your Penn Pride on Saturday afternoons this fall with Quaker football.”

The Quakers open the season on Saturday, Sept. 15, at Lafayette. The team returns 39 letterwinners from last year’s Ivy League runner-up, including 17 starters and three All-Ivy honorees. On Sept. 22, they will battle cross-city rival Villanova in their home opener. The “Schuylkill Showdown” will begin at 3:30.

Penn will appear nationally on the NBC Sports Network on Sept. 29 (at Dartmouth), Oct. 20 (at Yale), and Nov. 10 (home vs. Harvard). All three games will kick off at noon.

Other season highlights include games against William & Mary on Oct. 6 for Family Weekend and Brown on Oct. 27 for Homecoming,

To acquire free tickets to home games, PennCard holders can go to the Penn Athletics Ticket Office, located at Weightman Hall, 235 South 33rd St.

Ticket Office hours in August are Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. After Sept. 4, Ticket Office hours expand to 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The Quakers were picked to finish second in the 2012 Ivy League Preseason Media Poll behind Harvard. The players report to preseason camp on Aug 20.
