Penn Vet now part of Penn’s Way campaign

This year, members of the Penn community have the opportunity to support one of their own as part of the 2013 Penn’s Way Campaign.

Penn Vet has been added to the list of United Way charities to which individuals in the Philadelphia area may donate as part of a workplace campaign. Through the Penn’s Way campaign, ongoing through Nov. 16, University employees can choose to have their donations deducted directly from their salary on a one-time or recurring basis.

Penn Vet Dean Joan Hendricks says it’s particularly meaningful that Penn employees can now donate to the veterinary school, where many take their own pets for care.

“We depend on our supporters,” she says. “Every dollar we receive helps our clients receive more affordable care for their pets. Every dollar helps us avoid charging our students more so they can graduate and do good work instead of paying down debt. The more support we get, the more we can do to fulfill our mission.”

Besides Penn Vet, Penn’s Way stands to benefit several other charities with Penn connections, including the Abramson Cancer Center, the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, Pennsylvania Hospital, and the Sayre Health Center.

Donations to Penn Vet or any of the other approved Penn’s Way charities can be made at www.upenn.edu/pennsway.
