Signs of spring

The Morris Arboretum celebrates traditional Japanese cultural activities and one of the surest signs of spring at the Cherry Blossom Festival, which runs on two upcoming Saturdays: April 9 and 16. Events on both days include a tour of the variety of cherry species planted throughout the Arboretum, tours of traditional Japanese garden elements in the Arboretum, and performances by the Kyo Daiko Drumming Crew, a Philadelphia-based taiko drumming group. On April 9, visitors can see a traditional Japanese tea demonstration, and on April 16, they can see a kimono dressing demonstration and participate in origami workshops.

Events begin at 10 a.m. both days and are free with admission. For more information, visit the Morris Arboretum's website.
